Bespoke Listeria, Shelf Life and Micro Criteria Training Course delivered to CIEH for Food Standards Agency Contract

Chilled Food Associates, together with Una Kane, a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner (EHP), have developed a bespoke training course to fulfill a CIEH contract with the Food Standards Agency.

This new course is designed to improve EHPs' understanding of the EU Regulation on Microbiological Criteria for Foodstuffs (2073/2005) and the establishment of shelf-life of ready-to-eat food in relation to to Listeria monocytogenes.

Training is being delivered by Kaarin Goodburn and Una Kane.

Kaarin was closely involved in the development of the Regulation which came into force in December 2005, and has been delivering presentations on their implementation since the Chilled Food Association's guidance on the Regulation was issued at that time. CFA's guidance on the establishment of shelf life in relation to L. monocytogenes is also available from the CFA website.

The courses are free to attend and are suitable for EHPs working in food safety in local authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with space limited to one member of staff per council. Additional places may become available. To register your interest or ask to be put on the waiting list, contact the CIEH FSA training team.
